PR's: Post Application/ Pre-Final Certification

We have issued a Proposal Request to build out approx. 9K SF on the 4th floor on a project currently in the final stages of application. We have already been awarded points during Preliminary Review and are days away from submitting our D&C Final App. Will this PR need to be handled with the same LEED requirements i.e. how will this affect our application as whole?

Hi Erin, thanks for your question.

Good question here - I'm not sure I have all of the context, but from what it sounds, you are submitting a LEED BD+C (NC I'm assuming) application and are now building out another portion of the floor. I'm assuming 9K square feet is relatively small in comparison to the overall square footage of the project and thus I would simply ignore the fact that it is going to be renovated and submit your final design application to USGBC.

Worst case, they may come back and ask your team to address the new renovation, but it shouldn't affect the overall application.

To gather more context... could you let me know:

  • How big is the project overall?
  • Are you submitting your Design Phase final app or your Construction Phase final app?
  • Which LEED Rating System are you pursuing?
  • When would construction begin on the 9K sqft space?

With the above info, I'd be able to provide a more detailed, project-specific answer.
