LEED AP EXAM

Hello to all,

I just recently completed a Masters in Project Management this year and my LEED Green Associate last year. I want to continue doing my LEED AP but uncertain how to get unto a project since I live in the Caribbean and the exact requirements. Currently I still have a bit of credits to get before next year to complete the Green Associate requirements. What I am woindering is if going for the AP would cancel the Green Asssociate requirements or do I have to finish them first?

Regards

Hi Colin-John,

Congratulations on recently completing your Masters in Project Management.

For your LEED Continuing Education, you can fulfill all of your LEED GA requirements for CMP, as well as prepare for your LEED AP exam, with our online LEED Project Experience program. Our next program begins tomorrow.

Taking the program does not cancel anything with respect to your current LEED GA credential. However, if you have completed credential maintenance for your LEED GA credential, but NOT YET REPORTED those hours to GBCI, those hours could be applied to your 30 hour requirements for LEED AP. However, if you have already reported the hours to GBCI as a LEED GA, you can't report them twice once you're a LEED AP.

Also, if you decide to take the LEED AP exam, and for some reason you do not pass, you still keep your LEED GA credential. The only way you would "lose" your LEED GA credential is if you did not maintain it by fulfilling the 15 hours of continuing education (3 LEED specific) for the 2 year reporting period with GBCI.

Regarding starting the online project training, 99% of people register for the program online. You can register at the link above.
