Telecommuting is often hailed as “green” because it cuts down the fossil fuels associated with long, auto-centric commutes. However, some companies are slow to offer their employees the opportunity to work from home because they believe that it creates disconnected and unproductive workers. Is this choice to forego telecommuting a smart one, or is it costing them?
Result of the Federal Government Shutdown

Let’s make lemonade out of the lemons the government shutdown has handed us. Since Democrats and Republicans have failed to reach an agreement on the appropriations bill for the coming fiscal year, the federal government has effectively shutdown.
Working from home can save money, but only if taxes for telecommuting are in your favor.

Telecommuting may have hidden tax implications for both the employer and employee. Different states regulate and tax telecommuting in different ways, which can cause not only confusion, but added costs and paperwork.
