About

Lyle has participated in projects that involve environmental, civil and landscape architecture design. Lyle has written Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA), Environmental Protection Plans (EPP), and is AK-CESCL certified for writing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP).
He has also played critical roles in LEED-NC projects, guiding design teams in the credit selection and certification process. Last year, Lyle became Alaska’s only LEED AP with the Operations + Maintenance specialty. His sustainable design studies at the Boston Architectural College focus on passive systems design, building science, sustainable materials and building operations.
Lyle is the Fairbanks Vice-chair of Cascadia Green Building Council and was a member of the LEEDv4 Regionalization Task Force.
Before becoming an engineer, Lyle was a journeyman carpenter working on commercial and residential projects in Fairbanks, Alaska. His experience with the construction process has given him a unique insight into the role that proper detailing and construction technique has on building performance in the subarctic. In 1995, Lyle worked on one of the first Cob homes at the famous Cob Cottage in Coquille, Oregon.
