About

I co-founded GreenSpot Global in 2010, and we're a turnkey green real estate company. GreenSpot offers land and deal sourcing, green consulting & certifications, and finished product sales to builders and developers. My job is to make green building SIMPLE for my clients, and to ADD VALUE to real estate, whether someone is selling or refinancing.

I have proprietary processes and systems to smooth the certification process out, and I also consult on projects large and small – from changing out lighting to macro (re-)development. We do energy, water, waste & carbon audits, energy modeling and building certifications like LEED, ENERGY STAR and National Green Building Standard. Our clients are owners, buyers, investors, (re-)developers, business and government entities.

I teach classes and have a syndicated blog. You can follow me on Twitter (GreenSpot_Melis) and LinkedIn. CERTS HELD: LEED AP O+M and LEED for Homes "Green Rater," HERS rater & ENERGY STAR certifier, National Green Building Standard verifier (NGBS)

Principal
BACM - Baldridge Art & Communications Management - Denver, CO
February, 2002 - January, 2009
I started BACM as a content provider for web-based and print media. My expertise was in art, history, design, green homes and buildings. My articles and posts appeared in media like MSN.com, "Robb Report," "Luxe," The Denver Post and "Ms." magazine. BACM was my launch pad into green building.
Curator of Collections
Torch Energy Advisors Incorporated - Houston, TX
February, 1992 - February, 2002
In another life, I worked in the arts, and I was the in-house corporate art curator for this energy asset management company in Houston. In the 10 years I was there, I raised this sleepy private art collection to one of regional prominence. Collected by a descendant of Stephen F. Austin, the Torch Collection comprised 10,000 pieces of North Americana, including fine art, books, maps, antique firearms and photographs.
