Is there anyone how have a experience of LEED projects and Energy modelling for EA cradets.

My question is how we can proceed with Industrial projects that have huge process load @ LEED process load should be same in base line and design case we can't show saving in it so due to it my overall saving comes to bottam line even prerequsite is difficult to achive.

Hi Muzammal,

Thank you for your question. This is a common problem, or challenge, with industrial manufacturing facilities that have huge process loads, but are seeking to achieve LEED certification under the standard approach for LEED v3/2009 Minimum Energy Performance prerequisites and credits.

There are currently over 800 industrial manufacturing facilities that have earned, or are in the process of earning, LEED certification across the globe and these can be used as guidelines for Alternative Compliance Paths (ACPs) to earn the credits you are referring to. Companies that are working on this are global manufacturers such as Colgate Palmolive, Intel, Johnson Controls, Kohler, P&G, Siemens and others.

The first link below is for LEED NC is for buildings with high unregulated energy loads... The second link below is for LEED O+M for projects where process loads associated with manufacturing or industrial processes comprise more than 60% of the total project energy consumption, AND where the project is not eligible for an ENERGY STAR rating, AND where comparable building data is not available:

You can find out more about the specifics of the Alternative Compliance Paths for achieving LEED for New Construction 2009 EA Prerequisite/Credit 2 Minimum Energy Performance here http://www.usgbc.org/leed-interpretations?keys=10291
