Ideal home situation for solar pv panels

I have a home that is a salt box and the main roof faces east/west. We have a "shed roof" over our kitchen and dining room that is low slope/tilt. Can we still have solar installed at our house?

Answer:

Solar mounted on a roof facing east or west is still a feasible installation but will result in producing about 20% less electricity each year compared to a roof facing directly south. However, you mentioned that you have a shed roof. Shed roofs typically have less slope than a regular house roof and therefore would not be as effected by the east or west orientation.
