Now i have a client and they want to apply LEED CI certification, their office space is located in an existing office building which is operating since 01.02.2012, but they renovate their office space before they moved in dated 01.06.2012. is it possible for them to apply LEED CI certification? EA. Prerequisite 1 and Prerequisite 2 is required to be submitted, how can those PR.s be arranged?
Hi Olcay, where is the project located? Potential problems with this, if I understand correctly, are that you would be required to comply with LEED CI 2009 EA Prerequisite 1 "Fundamental Commissioning of Building Energy Systems" and EA Prerequisite 2 "Minimum Energy Performance", which means working with the owner from the start to "develop and incorporate commissioning requirements into the construction documents", from page 119 of the reference guide.
For EAP1 you would have to have the commissioning authority (CxA) coordinate with the building owner to perform the commissioning for all the required systems (mechanical and passive HVAC & R, and associated controls, lighting and daylighting controls, domestic HW systems and any renewable energy). I don't know if GBCI will allow retro-commissioning and retro-compliance with the owner's project requirements (OPR) and basis of design (BOD) docs, assuming those have been created.
You should check into EAP1 before worrying about EAP2.
Many of the compliance paths for EAP1 relate to ASHRAE. If the project is in Istanbul, you may want to check the USGBC's "Global Alternative Compliance Paths" for Green Interior Design here.
